What is a Rust build server?

A sandbox server with unlimited resources, instant crafting and often noclip, used to design and test bases without gathering or getting raided. Players plan footprints, check bunkers and price up builds on them before a wipe.

Do Rust build servers give you free resources?

On nearly all of them, yes. Resources come free or through a plugin and building is instant. Many add noclip and god mode so you can inspect a base from any angle before you build it live.

How often do Rust build servers wipe?

Often. Many make a new world every few hours, which clears what you built, while others hold a map until the owner or the force wipe clears it. The Last wipe and Next wipe columns on each server show which you are joining.

Why are Rust build servers listed as modded?

Free resources, instant building and noclip change the game, so Facepunch requires those servers to declare as modded. A build server in that tab is not a cheat server; it is the correct category for tools vanilla does not allow.
