The verdict, in numbers

This page reads the whole Rust server list every five minutes and compares what it sees with what is typical for this hour. The verdict sits above: up, degraded or down. Three figures support it:

• Servers online now: 11,721
• Players in game: 116,778
• Share of the usual count for this hour: the percentage next to the verdict.

A reading of 85% or more is normal. Between 50% and 85% points to a partial outage or a Steam problem. Under 50% is an outage.

48-hour chart

The chart below plots those same readings across the last 48 hours. The flat line you see is the expected shape for this hour; the dots are actual readings. Gaps are where the list could not be read. Compare the two: if the dots sit well under the line for more than one reading, something is off.

The biggest servers

The ten largest servers by current population are listed below, each with its live count and its last-seen time. A wide drop here usually means the problem is Steam or the host, not the individual server. If only one server is missing, that server is restarting, wiping or down; check its page for its last-seen time.

When your game shows fewer servers

If this page says servers are up but your in-game browser looks empty, the fault is between your machine and Steam:

1. Restart Steam, then Rust. A stale Steam session can return an empty list.
2. Clear every filter in the server browser. A region or tag set months ago can hide everything.
3. Check Steam's own status. When Steam's list service is out, every game's browser empties and this page shows a dip too.
4. On force wipe day, servers restart one by one and your client must be on the new build. Update Rust first.
5. Test with your VPN off and your firewall relaxed. UDP traffic to the server browser is often blocked.

Each server page shows its own last-seen time, so a single missing server is easy to confirm.
