When do official Rust servers wipe?

Facepunch's force wipe resets every map on the first Thursday of the month, and the force wipe countdown tracks that date. Individual official servers then keep their own cycle, and most repeat the same weekday every week or two. Thursday, Monday and Friday cover the large majority. The next wipe figure in the table is an estimate built from each server's past behaviour, so treat it as the stronger signal when the two disagree.

Are official Rust servers vanilla?

Almost all of them are. Official means run by Facepunch or an approved partner network, and settings stay near vanilla: gather rate at 1x, standard loot and Rust's default team limit of eight. A few list light modifications in their tags, and a small number set their group limit lower than eight. Check the group column before you commit to a server if you play solo, duo or trio.

Why is there a queue on an official server?

They are listed in the game's own Official tab, so they draw the widest audience, and regular players time their join to the wipe. Slots fill within minutes of a restart, and the busiest servers queue for hours after. Watch the population trend on a server's page and connect just as the count climbs rather than at the peak.

Do official servers rank higher than community servers?

No. Rank and tier are built from player counts and player hours, whichever group a server belongs to, so a busy community server outranks a quiet official one. Official servers dominate the top of the list because they hold the largest populations, not because of the tag. Compare a server's tier with its live population before you decide.
